Prime Minister Jean-Noël Barrow on Monday called on all parties to honor their commitments under the agreement reached in Sharm el-Sheikh last week.
“We deplore recent violations of the ceasefire, including the Israeli attack on Gaza following an attack on soldiers,” Barot told reporters ahead of a meeting of EU foreign ministers in Luxembourg, according to Al Jazeera.
“All parties must strictly honor the commitments made under the agreement signed last week in Sharm el-Sheikh.”
He also stressed that restoring peace and ensuring the delivery of humanitarian assistance must remain the international community’s top priority.
“Europe stands ready to help secure our borders,” he said, referring to Rafah’s EU Border Assistance Mission (EUBAM Rafah).
“I propose to strengthen this mission and not only ensure the passage of people, but also participate in the transportation of goods entering Gaza in large quantities to alleviate the suffering of the population.”
He reiterated his country’s support for the ceasefire plan announced at the end of September, which also aims to rebuild Gaza.
