Christine Valdanyan, a member of the parliament representing Armenian opposition facts, said he decided to leave the meeting after his fellow faction, Artur Sarkisian, gave a speech, but decided he was attacked by the MP Ve Garmiyan, a MP for the dominant civil contract party.
A video posted by Baldanyan on social media shows dozens of Congress guards running into the hall and trying to end the brawl.
Today, Armenian lawmakers continue to debate the initiative to strip Altul Sarkissan from immunity so that public criminal cases can be launched against him. He is one of the suspects in the case that includes an “attempt to take power” in the country where 16 opponents, including Archbishop Bagrat Garstagnan, who is the leader of the sacred struggle movement, have already been arrested.
