Cole shows the toning alliance between Tehran and Caracas amid growing tensions with Washington. Both countries face long-standing US sanctions.
Iran and Venezuela continue to deepen their strategic relationships by using common opposition to US foreign policy as foundations of cooperation. Pezeshkian’s remarks follow the US’s unilateral recent accusations at the Shanghai Cooperation Group Summit, where Iran criticized the US threat and violations of international norms.
Pezeshkian emphasized that Iran’s resilience on us and Israel’s pressure stems from “national unity and internal solidarity,” adding that such unity protects the state from foreign interference.
Reflecting his emotions, Maduro said that Venezuela’s strength lies in “a unique solidarity between the government, the nation and the military.”
He said the US has been fighting a psychological war on Venezuela and spreading false stories, adding that more than 8 million Venezuelans are ready to resist foreign invasions.
Both leaders discussed widening diplomatic and economic ties and praised each other’s commitment to peace and sovereignty.
