In a speech at the ceremony honoring medalists at the International Science Olympiad, the president on Saturday emphasized that the true wealth of Iran’s Islamic Republic lies not in natural resources but in talented, creative youth.
Pezeschkian emphasized that many countries have achieved notable progress without abundant natural resources and instead rely on skilled human capital.
He questioned why Iran, blessed with vast natural wealth, had not progressed as expected, sought a change in perspective and encouraged its citizens to recognize the possibility of solving problems.
The president also addressed the urgent need for education reform and emphasized that his administration prioritizes creating an environment that will help identify and develop young talent. He noted that despite the years of building schools, Iran still faces a shortage of educational facilities and that his administration is committed to solving the issue comprehensively.
Pezeshkian criticised the stagnant management system that resists change, urging young people to be freed from traditional molds and use creativity to drive reform.
In his remarks, the president emphasized the resilience and creativity of Iranian people facing external challenges. He said that while the enemy may try to undermine the scientific achievements of the country, it was the country’s skilled experts and scientists who built the infrastructure and resources.
He further expressed confidence that Iranians can reinforce the idea that their enemies have resolve and ability to move forward despite their efforts to stumble their progress, and that they cannot hamper those who are committed to growth and development.
Pezeshkian emphasized the importance of fostering ideas aimed at innovation and problem-solving, especially among young people. He believes his administration is aiming to identify and empower elites, and is convinced that Iran can achieve prosperity and justice while countering external threats.
The ceremony recognized 38 medalists from various science fields and celebrated Iran’s achievements and contributions to the global presence.
