At the meeting of the Supreme Council of Cyberspace on Tuesday, Pezeschkian highlighted the important role of the council in improving the quality of services and addressing urgent security concerns, particularly under what is known as current sensitive conditions.
According to Press TV, he said a comprehensive assessment is necessary to determine the extent to which the cyberspace sector outline goals have been achieved and to identify and resolve obstacles to its implementation.
The President also emphasized the importance of addressing existing gaps and strengthening the resilience of national infrastructure.
During the session, the security department of the National Cyberspace Centre presented detailed reports on recent cyber threats and the country’s success in repelling them.
Pezeshkian has directed the Congressional Secretariat to continuously update the protocol and redesign the cyber defense process.
Iran has been the target of numerous cyberattacks by the US and Israel, particularly during the 12-day war on Iran last month.
On June 13, Israel launched an unprovoked war with Iran, assassinating many high-ranking military commanders, nuclear scientists and ordinary civilians.
More than a week later, the United States also took part in the war by bombing three Iranian nuclear sites with serious violations of the UN Charter, international law, and the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT).
At the beginning of the war, the Israeli regime launched multiple coordinated cyberattacks targeting Iranian banking networks and state television.
In response, the Iranian military is the central hub of cyberwarfare equipment around the world, targeting strategic sites across the occupying territories, including Beer al-Sabe, the regime’s cyber capital that is thought to be the hub of the Israeli regime’s cyber industry.
Israeli media reports say missiles launched by Iran managed to avoid the regime’s multi-layered air defense system. Despite initial detection, the missile intercept system was unable to neutralize the projectile.
On June 24, Iran finally managed to halt the war through retaliation operations against the Israeli regime.
