In a meeting with the Minister of Interior of the Republic of Tajikistan, Colonel Rakimzoda Ramazon Hamro, held in Tehran on Tuesday on the sidelines of the 4th ECO Interior Ministers’ Meeting, the Iranian President emphasized the possibility of strengthening communication based on the religious and cultural ties shared between Islamic and regional countries.
Mr. Pezeshkian stressed that the peoples of Iran and Tajikistan share rich cultural and traditional ties, which should be leveraged to strengthen bilateral relations across various sectors.
The President emphasized security as a fundamental prerequisite for promoting cooperation, calling for the need to strengthen friendly relations to protect borders and combat threats such as drug trafficking.
He also called for a structured framework to foster cooperation between traders, intellectuals and the public in the cultural, economic, scientific and medical fields.
Mr. Pezeshkian warned against external forces seeking to destroy these positive relationships, arguing that unity among regional countries strengthens their strength.
The Minister noted the deep cultural ties shared between the peoples of Iran and Tajikistan and asked the Minister to convey his warm greetings to Tajikistan’s President Emomali Rahmon.
The Minister of Tajikistan emphasized the important role of security in expanding economic ties and advocated close cooperation in the fight against terrorism and human trafficking.
He said that the people of Tajikistan consider Tehran their homeland and expressed a strong desire to deepen cultural ties. He also emphasized the need to expand mutual relations in all sectors.
