Iran and Russian presidents and North Korean leader Kim Jong An attend the military parade in Beijing and mark the first public release of the two leaders along with President Xi Jinping on a show of collective rebellion amidst Western pressure.
Reuters reported that no Western leader is among the 26 foreign secretaries attending the parade next week, except for Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico, a member of the European Union, Reuters reported.
Against the backdrop of China’s growing military power during the “Victory Day” parade on September 3, the three leaders project a major show of solidarity struck by sanctions from China and the South of the World, as well as Russia, North Korea and Iran.
North Korea, an ally of China’s formal treaty, has been under UN Security Council sanctions since 2006 over the development of nuclear weapons and ballistic missiles. Kim last visited China in January 2019.
