TEHRAN – Polish cyclists have moved from Warsaw to Isfahan, commemorating General Andres’ liberation army in World War II, paying tribute to the 120,000 Polish prisoners who were released from Soviet labor camps and are grateful for Iran’s hospitality to Polish immigrants, said the head of the tour and car club in Gilan.
Mohsen Vahedi told CHTN that 32 Polish cyclists had traveled from Warsaw, passed through the countries of Slovakia, Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria and Turkey, and entered Iran via the Bazagan border.
They plan to visit the cities of Bandar Anzali, Tehran and Isfahan, and go to the cemeteries of Polish immigrants buried in these cities to commemorate their memories, he said.
He added that they will leave Iran on May 9th through the Razi border in Khoy, West Azabaijan.
Gilan’s touring and auto club, with the cooperation of Gilan’s cultural heritage, handicrafts and tourism sectors, welcomes the meeting of Polish cyclists through plans taken on Gilan’s route and will accompany them until they leave Gilan, he pointed out.
Vahedi also said that 147 countries are members of the FIA, supporting sightseeing tour meetings in the form of cycles and cars.
“We hope that such tours with a tourism focus will receive more attention and support from the authorities to bring a message of peace and friendship and to acclimate foreign tourists to the culture, customs and historical charm of our country,” he added.
Consisting of 245 automotive and motorsport club members from 147 countries, Federal International Motors (FIA) is in a unique position to promote communication and exchange of ideas among its 80 million members. This comprehensive access means that the FIA and its clubs can actively educate their members, inform them of responsibility, act safely, and encourage them to make environmentally sound choices.
