Iraq’s presidential palace said in a statement on Friday that it was not aware of the decision to add Yemen’s Ansarullah movement and Lebanon’s Hezbollah to the list of terrorist organizations and did not approve such a move, Al Jazeera reported.
Earlier, Iraqi Prime Minister Mohamed Shia Al-Sudani ordered that violations and errors that occurred in the process of including the names of some entities in the list of individuals and entities related to terrorism be investigated without delay and that individuals found guilty be held accountable.
According to al-Sudani, the Iraqi government’s recognition only included groups associated with ISIL and al-Qaeda, and included the names of other groups, which was an administrative error that needs to be corrected.
Iraq’s position on Lebanon and Palestine is principled and consistent.
