The Islamic Republic of Iran’s logical and wise decision not to participate in the Sharm el-Sheikh talks is a sign of the maturity of the professionals of the diplomatic apparatus and their determination to protect the independence of the regime and the interests of the country. At this time, it is important to note the following points:
1. Holding such a meeting at the invitation of President Trump, the main partner in the genocide of the Gaza people and the first supporter of the brutal and repressive policies of the Zionist regime against the oppressed and defenseless Palestinian people, amounts to nothing more than an attempt to distract public opinion from Prime Minister Netanyahu’s crimes. This conference is an attempt to save a failed and hated regime that not only does not help the peoples of this occupied territory to achieve their right to self-determination, but also is considered ineffective in all areas: military, political, economic, international and popular. Following this media hype, Trump was going to transform from a warmongering president to a peace hero in this propaganda show, all the while rescuing Netanyahu from the morass of crime.
2. In Sharm el-Sheikh, President Trump, who believes that establishing a ceasefire between Hamas and Israel is the first step toward realizing his regional plan, intended to endorse the 20-point plan in the presence of a small group of world leaders and persuade them to implement it. The plan aims to disarm Hamas and deprive the Palestinian people of their right to an independent state, and serious doubts remain about the implementation of its initial stages, namely the withdrawal of the Zionist regime from Gaza. By reversing the facts, Trump intended to invalidate the steadfast spirit and resistance of the Gaza residents and the resistance front’s wholehearted support for them, and to present a withdrawal from Israel’s claims to the international community in the name of a peace plan.
3. Iran’s presence in Sharm el-Sheikh was seen as giving legitimacy to President Trump’s dubious and vague plans, and Iran’s absence from the conference was a negative reaction to America’s misunderstanding of the beautiful word “peace.” Peace that protects the oppressor cannot be justice, and because it is not justice, it will not last long. Iran’s presence in Sharm el-Sheikh has given President Trump a new opportunity to declare himself the winner of the show, declaring that the failed invasion of Iran caused the country to change its behavior.
4. The people of the world have no doubt that Iran is the main supporter of the Palestinian resistance to freedom and self-determination, and in the process it has also incurred heavy costs and sacrificed precious martyrs. As an active and peace-loving actor, Iran always defends the rights of the Palestinian people in international forums, and its absence from the show in Sharm el-Sheikh will not prevent it from continuing to play a role in West Asia and influencing the future order of the region. Iran’s negative reaction to attending the Sharm el-Sheikh talks meant defending a just peace and continuing the logic of resistance, and time will prove the correctness of this wise and logical decision.
