After returning from China in Tehran on Wednesday, President Pezeshkian emphasized that discussions with heads of SCO members have encouraged understanding and cooperation.
The president said the implementation of the agreement from the summit will create a favorable outlook in Iran’s economy, security, science and tourism.
During the event, President Pezeschkian attended two important sessions. The first was a major SCO conference, where he proposed the establishment of a committee aimed at operating peace and preventing threats between member states. He also discussed strategies to promote financial transactions between relevant countries.
The second session, known as SCO Plus, included the presidents and prime ministers of around 24 countries. At this conference, Pezeschkian emphasized the importance of peace based on rights and justice. He said the Chinese president has proposed a framework for global governance reform that eschews double standards and respects the principles of fairness and justice.
Pezeshkian pointed to the signing of around 24 documents and several resolutions addressing security, counter-terrorism, drug trafficking, and various areas of cooperation during China visits. He identified direct dialogue with Tajikistan, Pakistan and Russian heads of state as a key outcome of the trip, allowing for extensive discussions on economic, scientific, regional, nuclear issues and snapback mechanisms.
According to the president, a joint statement condemning the illegal activities of three European countries (UK, France and Germany) on the snapback mechanism was signed during a meeting of foreign ministers involving Iran, China and Russia, which was later submitted to the UN Security Council.
He also mentioned the strategic decisions made during discussions with senior Chinese and Turkish officials.
Pezeschkian emphasized that informal discussions will be held alongside other heads of state on the sidelines of the summit, providing opportunities for fostering understanding, solidarity and cooperation.
The President expressed his hope that Iran will actively pursue the agreements reached at the summit, and through its implementation, he will promote positive outlook with neighboring countries and other participating countries in the areas of economic, security, science, tourism and social issues.
He also said that the final resolution of the summit firmly condemned the June attacks by the Israeli government, supported by the US, and that all countries recognize it against international law and the rights of the state. He sought the power to support logic and justice against the unilateral opposition that he described as the law of the jungle.
