Speaking on Tuesday at a ceremony honoring the national freestyle and Greco-Roman wrestling teams, Pezeschkian, who spoke on the recent victory of the world title in Croatia, praised athletes for becoming role models for the nation’s youth.
“You can become a role model for the younger generation through your actions and personality,” he said.
“The world is putting pressure on us to surrender, but the surrender is not in our nature. We will resist Iran until our last breath and will not kneel.”
The president cited economic sanctions and restrictions imposed on the country, urging him to rely on domestic possibilities. “When we leverage our capabilities and capabilities, we certainly achieve our goals,” he added.
In a similar statement on Monday, Pezeshkian said the enemy was trying to sanction Iran.
“They want us to submit to the base and the sleazy people, but even imagine it’s not a place in my heart,” Pezeschkian said. “It’s a dream to put Iran and our people on their knees.”
Last month, France, the UK and Germany sparked a snapback of all UN sanctions against Iran, in which the 2015 nuclear agreement was lifted under the pretext of non-compliance on Tehran, despite Washington’s unilateral withdrawal and violations of terms of the agreement.
The UN Security Council regained the ban on Sunday. It came almost two days after the US and its allies rejected a resolution submitted by China and Russia for delaying the so-called “snapback” mechanism.
Iran has vowed to take mutual action against the move.
