Tehran – People in major cities around the world have organized demonstrations to demand an immediate arms embargo on Israel and an end to the Gaza Strip lockdown.
Protesters turned their attention to Gaza’s humanitarian crisis. Protesters also called for international intervention to protect Palestinian civilians.
In Ottawa, Canada, demonstrators gathered for a show of solidarity with Gazan to urge world leaders to impose a swift arms embargo on Israel and lift a choking food blockade. The rally was part of a larger global move to highlight the dire situation for Palestinians and pressures for government change.
Protesters opposed to Israeli policy gathered at Times Square in New York City called for the release of Mahmoud Khalil, a detained Columbia University graduate student. Khalil’s supporters appeared despite chanting the slogans despite the rainy weather and retaining signs such as “Now free Mahmoud Khalil!” And then they say, “Have our students in hand.”
In Ireland, activists once again showed their unwavering support for Gaza, strengthening their long-standing commitment to the Palestinian cause.
A large group of protesters gathered outside the US embassy in London to show opposition to US policies regarding Israeli-Palestinian conflict and demand for alternative solutions.
Sydney residents joined thousands of others who marched through the city to express their anger over the lockdown. Protesters raised the flags with slogans as they repeated global demand to stop the humanitarian crisis that threatens the lives of 2.3 million people in the Gaza Strip.

In Paris, peace activists held thorough solidarity with the Palestinians and sharply criticised the US-funded military action of Israel, which fostered the conflict.
In Tokyo, protesters gathered outside the German embassy to condemn the suppression of German pro-Palestinian activists following police crackdowns against Berlin supporters.
