According to Lebanese Al-Mayadeen TV, the Israeli public broadcaster reported that protest demonstrations began at Al-Quds on Wednesday morning, demanding the return of war with Gaza and all Israeli prisoners of war held by Hamas, preparations for the protest continues until next Saturday.
The broadcaster noted that the “Day of Confusion” event was organized by prisoners of war and their support groups, who are seeking a deal to end the war and reach them to bring them home.
The protests concentrated outside Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s residence on Gaza Street in Al Kud. There, demonstrators set up tents, recycled containers to create fires, creating what they called “fire rings” around the area, and blew flames just 100 meters away from the government chief’s civil servants.
Protesters also gathered in Tel Aviv. The protest group plans to serve as demonstrations in various parts of the city, including Knesset and Gaza Avenue, with the event scheduled to end with a Saturday evening central march at Parlisk Air in Tel Aviv.
Notable participants and activists leading the protest include Anas, mother of Captive Mathan, Viki Cohen, mother of Captive Nimrod, and parents of soldiers currently serving in the Gaza Sector or parents of soldiers injured during the war.
On a show supporting the movement, dozens of Tel Aviv tech companies, including WIX and FIVERR, announced Monday that they would be able to take part in the protest camps. They offer special buses from the Salona Complex on Kaplan Street in Tel Aviv. Additionally, several major investment funds have also participated in the initiative.
In response to the protest, police strengthened their presence at the occupied AL-QDS and entrances to major highways as protests continued to expand in Tel Aviv.
