Riots broke out, leading to clashes between fans and police across the city. According to the BBC, police arrested nearly 300 people after a clash broke out near Champion Avenue in the city and Parc Death Princess Stadium in PSG.
The clash came after PSG, a Paris-based professional football club, defeated Inter Milan, a Milan-based Italian professional football club, 5-0 in the recent UEFA Champions League. Fraulics and fireworks were triggered, bus shelters were destroyed, and cars were on fire.
The conflict between fans and police officers was shared across multiple social media platforms. The footage on social media showed a car set up with fires, chaotic streets, vandalism and injured police officers. Police are working to stabilize the situation using tear gas, non-lethal ammunition and water cannons.
