Speaking to more than 20 international leaders, including Russian military forces, veterans and China’s Xi Jin average, President Putin said that Russia remembers the lessons of World War II and declared that “truth and justice are on our side.”
He argued that Russia as a whole supported the war in Ukraine and called it a “special military operation.”
A one-sided three-day ceasefire has been announced by Russia in line with the gorgeous 80th anniversary event that Ukraine rejected as a “theater show.”
The Ukrainian forces said they had been under thousands of attacks since the ceasefire took effect on May 8. Russia claims that a ceasefire has been observed and that it is accusing Ukraine of hundreds of violations.

Before Putin’s speech and a minute of silence, the commander of the ground forces, Oleg Salicov, led an troop of 11,000 men to Red Square, where he was inspected by Defense Minister Andrei Belusov.
