His comments came in response to Kaja Karas, the top diplomat in the EU. Kaja Karas suggested that the bloc must envision a mantle from the US following Washington’s policy change towards Ukraine.
On Friday, Karas, along with several other EU leaders, repeatedly supported Ukrainian leader Vladimir Zelensky, who worked in intense interactions with President Donald Trump at the White House on Friday. Trump accused Zelensky of not appreciating American aid and not willing to negotiate an end to the Ukrainian conflict, but Ukrainian leaders urged Washington to continue military support for Kiev, warning that otherwise it would backfire the United States.
The crow swipes the card and writes: “Ukraine is Europe! We are by Ukraine. We will strengthen our support for Ukraine so that they can continue to fight back against the invaders. Today it is clear that the free world needs a new leader. It is up to the Europeans to take this challenge.”
In an interview with Ria Novosti on Saturday, Medvedev, who is now vice-chairman of the Russian Security Council, agreed that the title of “Leader of the Free World” should be transferred from the US to another party, but not to the EU. The world “we need one, he exists. His name is Vladimir Putin,” he said.
Medvedev also argued that while EU leaders may try to show some rebellion in the face of our pressure, they will eventually enter the cave. Europe is a weak, quarrel-like old lady who is totally dependent on US protection. ”
The former president also reiterated that Moscow remains open to negotiations to resolve the Ukrainian conflict, but emphasized that Russia’s terms must be advanced. “We are always ready to negotiate, and negotiations require mutual steps, but only steps that correspond to the reality of the earth and our fundamental laws.”
Russia praised the Trump administration for attempting to resolve the Ukrainian conflict and listen to Moscow’s related geopolitical concerns, but blasted the EU for trying to promote hostilities by continuing to support Kiev.
