Qatar highlights the important role of civil society in supporting Palestinians since the initiation of Israeli invasion in Gaza on October 7, 2023, and in the reconstruction phase.
In the second session of the “Roles of Palestine and Civil Society” conference, Qatar’s Egyptian ambassador and permanent representative of the Arab League, Tarek Ali Faraj Al Ansari emphasized that “the occupation is always ugly,” and I added: “Despite Israel’s obligations as a right of occupation under international law to protect civilians and relief efforts, it continues to kill everyone, including members of civil society organizations,” says Middle East Monitor. reported.
He highlighted that Qatar is providing all forms of humanitarian assistance to Palestinians through Qatar Red Crescent, the Qatar Fund and Qatar Charity, along with the efforts of dozens of volunteers working in this field in Gaza. .
Al-Ansari also said that Qatar was the first Arab to establish in October 2012 a permanent committee to oversee and implement the project in Gaza under the name “Gaza Reconstruction Committee” to mitigate the effects of the lockdown. It was pointed out that it is a country. However, its headquarters have been bombed by Israeli occupation forces in recent months.
He also expressed his appreciation from Qatar for his continued support since the launch of the attack on Gaza, including opening hospitals for Palestinians.
Qatar reaffirmed its support for the refusal of the Palestinian people to move and its support for the 1967 rights that it would not be able to obtain the right to establish an independent state within its boundaries.
