The first edition of the Tehran – Avaye Solh International Film Festival will take place in November on the island of Qeshm in the Persian Gulf.
The Avaye Solh (literally means the voice of peace) festival is held under the auspices of the Qeshm Free Zone Organization, the Secretariat of the Supreme Council of Free Zones, and the Cultural and Arts Division of the Iranian House of Representatives.
With Laleh Eskandari serving as festival director, the event will be held in November and will feature domestic and international works in the categories of short films, feature films, documentaries and animation.
So far, over 500 works from Iran and 11 countries, including the US, France, Spain, Italy, Russia, China and Australia, have been submitted to the festival’s secretariat, with short fiction films making up the biggest entries.
To provide a wide range of opportunities for participation for filmmakers, the festival’s website will resume for submissions tomorrow, making it easier to access for 10 days.
The Avaye Solh International Film Festival was founded by the Cultural and Arts Department of Iranian Houses, rooted in the belief that art is a universal language for promoting peace, empathy and human dignity.
The festival serves as a platform for artists and viewers who believe in the transformative power of sound, imagery and storytelling, creating a gentler and more caring world.
The event seeks to showcase films and artworks that have the power to move the heart, as well as reflect themes of hope, friendship and consciousness.
By bridging the world of art and peace, the festival aims to create space for dialogue, listening and vision, especially for those voices that have often been drowned by the noise of our time.
The festival aims to be a catalyst for the cultural landscape of Iran and the region, building a bridge between the minds of all humanity longing for a better life.
The Avaye Solh Festival is organized with the goal of promoting global peace. The first edition of the festival is dedicated to films, with future editions set to expand into other art areas. This initiative strives to amplify the message of peace through the universal language of art and bring the voice of peace to the world.
