TEHRAN – Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yiyi said Friday that the strike against Iran is unjustified and that recent military clashes between Israel and Iran should not be repeated.
The King made these comments at a joint press conference with French Foreign Minister Jean Noel Barlotte in Paris.
When asked about China’s stance on Iran’s nuclear issue and the current situation in the Middle East, Wang said that Iran’s nuclear issue could be a model for resolving international conflicts through dialogue and consultation, but is now causing a new crisis in the Middle East.
China respects Iran’s right to peaceful use of nuclear technology as a signatorial NPT
He heard the world knock on the door of peace, but ultimately failed to open the door to peace, he expressed China’s deep regret about this and said he called for reflection on the lesson.
“War cannot resolve Iran’s nuclear issue, and military abuse will only escalate conflict and deepen hatred,” he argued.
The King added that he set a dangerous precedent for reckless bombing of nuclear facilities in American sovereign states.
He regretted that if a nuclear disaster occurred, the whole world would bear the consequences.
The king emphasized that the idea that “peace comes only after strength” is a logic of power politics.
“If good and evil are judged solely by strength, where do rules and justice stand? True peace cannot be achieved by strength alone. There is a risk of opening Pandora’s box,” the king said.
The Wang said China values Iran’s supreme leader Ali Khamenei’s repeated pledges to develop nuclear weapons.
China’s position on Iran’s nuclear issue is clear and consistent, Wang said that China appreciates Iran’s supreme leader Ali Khamenei’s repeated commitments to the development of nuclear weapons, while also respecting the rights of Iran’s signature as a signing treaty on the non-proliferation of nuclear weapons against the peaceful use of nuclear weapons.
Based on this, the parties involved can accelerate negotiations on a new international agreement to resolve Iran’s nuclear issue, ensuring that Iran’s nuclear activities remain under the strict supervision and protection of the International Atomic Energy Agency, Wang added.
The King emphasized that a true resolution on Iran’s nuclear issue cannot avoid a central issue in the Middle East: the Palestinian issue.
The two-state solution continues to be the only viable path to breaking the regional cycle of disruption, and the international community must take more concrete and effective action on this goal, he said.
As a permanent member of the UN Security Council, Wang added that China and France will remain fair, helping to resolve conflicts through dialogue and negotiations, oppose double standards, and that Beijing will be willing to cooperate with Paris towards this end.
He added that the UN and the Security Council should play their role in maintaining peace.
