Speaking at the Tehran Dialogue Forum on Sunday, Araguchi said that regional nations can regain their right to self-determination and diagram the future based on the will of the group.
“This is not a think tank of out-of-territorial forces, but a future where it must be shaped according to the needs, values and reality of the local capital and locality,” he said.
Araghchi argued that as long as regional countries can build new languages to explain their reality, they can establish more sustainable, legitimate, and effective institutions, mechanisms and alliances than externally imposed arrangements.
He reaffirmed Iran’s commitment to regional cooperation, saying that Iran’s Islamic Republic will become a trusted partner and trustworthy partner for the region and all its countries and states.
Elsewhere in his speech, the Iranian chief diplomat said the crisis in Gaza once again proved that the fate of the region cannot and will not be dependent on the decisions and will of forces outside the realm.
“What is presented as a ‘local reality’ now is that it actually reflects a deeply constructed narrative and interpretation. This is formed solely on its own interests. This must be redefine and amended from within the region itself.
