Ebrahim Rezaei said on Monday that eight nuclear power plants will be built in Iran under an agreement with Russia, four of which are located in Bushehr, southern Iran.
Rezaei made these statements after a visit by members of the National Security Foreign Policy Committee on various facilities, including the Iranian Atomic Energy Organization (AEOI) and the Tehran Research Reactor.
He said that members visited AEOI’s Radioisotope production complex and were described as the latest developments, advances and activities in the field.
Rezaei cited Mohammad Eslami, head of AEOI, and emphasized that the construction of units 2 and 3 of the Bushehr nuclear power plant is fully undertaken by Iranian companies.
According to the report, Ebrahim Azitzi, head of the National Security and Foreign Policy Committee, emphasized that during this period the presence of committee members at AEOI will send a message to all enemies of the Iranian state.
The head of the committee declared to the Iranian enemy: “Iran’s nuclear industry cannot be shut down. We will stick to the nuclear industry to a final breath and will never step back.”
