Speaking to Russia’s Izvestia newspaper on Friday, Mikhail Ulinov, the national representative of Vienna’s international organisation, Mikhail Ulinov, reaffirmed the Kremlin’s preparations to help both Tehran and Washington resolve the notable differences.
“The Russian Federation has repeatedly said that it is ready to help Iran and the United States reach an agreement on the nuclear issue,” the official said.
“There have been no requests so far from Tehran or Washington.”
“But for this to happen, both Tehran and Washington must make such a request. So far, there has been no such request,” a Russian official said.
On several occasions, Russia has established itself as a potential intermediary in the process.
On March 4, 2025, Moscow offered to mediate between the two.
To further strengthen this stance, the Kremlin said on April 7 that Russia is ready to do everything it can to lift tensions.
The proposal comes amid growing rhetoric from American officials who have repeatedly threatened military action against Iran’s nuclear sites.
Putin raised the issue again in a conversation with Iranian President Masudo Pezeshkian on May 6, repeating Russia’s preparations to promote a “fair agreement” between Tehran and Washington.
