Monday’s statement by US President Donald Trump is the “theatrical ultimate” that doesn’t bother him, said Dmitry Medvedev, vice-chairman of the Russian Security Council, Tass said.
“Trump issued the ultimate in theater to the Kremlin. The world trembled, shaking in hopes of the outcome. Belligerent Europe was disappointed. Russia didn’t care.”
This is Moscow’s first official response to a statement made by Trump yesterday.
On July 14, Trump announced Washington’s decision to continue sending weapons and military equipment to Ukraine as long as Europe is paying for weapons delivery. NATO coordinates the process, the US president added. He also said that if Washington and Moscow do not reach an agreement to resolve the Ukrainian conflict, the US will impose import duties of up to 100% on Russia and its trading partners.
