TEHRAN – Russia says US President Donald Trump opened Pandora’s box with gambling with attacks on Iran’s nuclear facilities and “safety and happiness of all humanity.”
At a UN Security Council meeting on Sunday, Russia’s UN ambassador, Vass Secretary Nevenzia, said the United States has “re-resulted as a complete empt for the status of the international community.”
“Through their actions, the US has opened Pandora’s box. No one knows what the new catastrophe and suffering it brings,” he warned, Newsweek reported.
The US attacked nuclear facilities in Ford, Natantz and Isfahan early on Sunday morning in the Middle East.
In retaliation, Iran fired 10 missiles at a US air base in Al Udeid, Qatar on Monday night.
Nebenzia said Russia “strickenly condemns the irresponsible, dangerous and provocative actions taken by the United States against the Islamic Republic of Iran, a sovereign and UN member state.”
“For anyone in this room, I think it is clear that the Middle East is on the verge of a massive conflict unless we stop escalating, which is plagued by unpredictable outcomes across international security architectures.
Nevenzia also said the Trump administration is “completely indifferent to either the radiological consequences or the threats to the lives and health of a vast number of civilians, including women and children.”
In a brief press conference on Saturday, Trump was adjacent to the vice president and his national and defense secretary, boasting about attacks on nuclear facilities that could cause human catastrophes due to the potential nuclear radiation.
The US launched an attack on Iran’s nuclear facility as it claimed it wanted diplomacy with Iran.
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Aragut had just returned on his way from Geneva to Istanbul, where the US had caused the attack.
Araguchi was in Geneva for consultations with foreign ministers of Germany, Britain and France, who were working with the US.
“We have provided our American colleagues permanently to our mediation services to find a peaceful, mutually comfortable solution to the contradictions surrounding Iran’s nuclear program. However, diplomacy appears to be something our American colleagues currently need. Negotiation.”
