In a statement on President Donald Trump’s threat to Iran, the Russian Foreign Ministry said Moscow is opposed to the foreign threat of bombing Iran’s nuclear energy infrastructure.
Iranian enemies should not use military force to resolve differences with Tehran, the statement added.
The Russian Foreign Ministry added that such actions (military operations against Iran) would lead to widespread and dangerous consequences in the region and around the world.
Russia warned that the West had violated international resolutions and was using the International Atomic Energy Agency as a pawn for its own political targets.
The statement was issued after a meeting between Russian Deputy Minister Sergei Lyabukov and Foreign Minister Majid Takto Ravanch on Iran’s political affairs.
The two sides met in Moscow on Wednesday and held discussions.
Takht Ravanchi took part in political consultations with the vice ministers of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) member states and traveled to Moscow to hold a bilateral meeting.
