In a meeting with Iranian foreign minister, the Russian president once again expressed his position of condemning the attacks by the US and Zionist regimes on Iran, emphasizing that “these attacks are baseless and unfair.”
“As you know, I spoke on the phone with the President of the United States, the Prime Minister of Israel, the President of the United Arab Emirates and your president,” Vladimir Putin said during a meeting with Foreign Minister Abbas Aragut in the Kremlin on Monday afternoon.
The Russian president said “there is no basis for an unprovoked aggression against Iran,” referring to the country’s position outlined in a statement by the country’s foreign ministry and a statement before the UN Security Council.
Putin said we have a long-standing good and reliable relationship with Iran. We are doing our part in helping Iranian people and exploring ways to find solutions.
The Russian president asked Aragut to share his best wishes with Iranian leaders and President Masuud Pezeshkian.
Araghchi: Iran is legally defending
At the meeting, the Iranian Foreign Minister gave the Russian president a speech from Iranian leaders and president, thanking Moscow for his post-Iranian regime’s position against the US and Israeli regime.
Satisfied with the meeting with Putin, Araguchi said, “This meeting is taking place in a dangerous situation happening in the region. Iran-Russia relations are close and old, and in recent years have been upgraded to a strategic aspect.
“We thank Russia for its extremely strong and correct stance in condemning these attacks, and Russia is on the right track in accordance with international law,” the Iranian foreign Monister said.
He said “the level of tension is rising due to the unprovoked aggression of the Israeli regime and the US, and the attacks are opposed to the UN Charter and international law, and the Islamic Republic of Iran legally defends these attacks.”
