On June 1, the Ukrainian regime launched a “terrorist” attack using first-person view (FPV) drones targeting airfields in the Russian Murmans, Irkutsk, Ivanovo, Riazan and Amur regions.
“All terrorist attacks on military airfields in Ivanovo, Riazan and Amur regions have been repelled,” the statement said.
The Russian mod has been extinguished as a result of Ukrainian drone attacks on airfields in the Marmansk and Irkutsk regions, with no casualties among military or civilians.
The ministry said FPV drones were fired from an area near the Murmansk and Irkutsk airfields, causing several fires that damaged aviation equipment.
Ukraine said drones have destroyed 41 aircraft and several strategic bombers in five different Russian regions deep in Russia’s territory.
On condition of anonymity, a military official who spoke with The Associated Press to disclose operational details, said the widespread attack took more than a year and a half and was personally overseen by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
The two fighting sides will meet in Istanbul tomorrow.
