In Mehr Media Group CEO Mohammad Mahdi Rahmati (formal message including Mehr News Agency and the English Language Daily Tehran Times), Tass expressed deep sadness over recent events in Iran, reported the Tehran Times.
“We are deeply shocked and saddened by the escalation of violence that has taken the lives of many innocent civilians,” the message read. “Our thoughts and prayers are with the families of the victims and with everyone affected by this tragedy.”
The message continued to praise Iranian journalists for their courage and resilience, known as “a difficult time.” Emphasizing solidarity with Iran’s counterparts, Tas said: “We, our colleagues in Russia, will always bear you, our journalists who work tirelessly under challenging conditions.
The statement comes as tensions have risen following Israeli military action in the region. Iran has recently reported many civilian casualties, prompting widespread international concern.
Tas concluded his message with strength and patience, hoping for “courage and immobility” in the face of adversity and the public.
In September 2024, Ramati and Russia’s TASS Director Andrei Kondrasov signed a memorandum at the BRICS Media Summit in Moscow.
The agreement symbolized a commitment to mutual cooperation, allowing both media to share news content, promote exchanges between staff, and enhance journalistic practices and technological advancements.
