TEHRAN – Ayatollah Seiyed Ali Khamenei, the leader of the Islamic Revolution, held a meeting with the Iranian home minister and the country’s governor on Wednesday.
During the meeting, Ayatollah Khamenei emphasized that the governor is an inclusive manager of their respective states, and said he referred to the country’s favorable public atmosphere in order to serve the people.
Pointing to the country’s vast opportunities, Ayatollah Khamenei added, “The country is benefiting from the enormous capabilities of young human capital. If the institutions were aware of and utilised this possibility, concrete progress could have been achieved.”
Leaders of the Islamic Revolution also mentioned the membership of Iran in major regional and international organizations such as the Shanghai Cooperation Agency and BRICS, and, as an even more valuable opportunity, the appointment of an interior minister with detailed knowledge of the diverse regions of the country.
Ayatollah Khamenei mentioned the governor’s management of various local issues, including diplomatic issues related to the state, saying, “We have many neighbours. These neighbours themselves are one of the opportunities.”
The leaders of the Islamic Revolution emphasized the need to maintain the integrity of the country and to stand up to corruption, calling the fight against corruption a critical duty of senior officials.
Ayatollah Khamenei also added, “The first condition for fighting corruption is that staff and their families must be able to stay away from the elements that induce corruption,” he said, “Given the sensitive position of civil servants, involvement in corruption will cause much more harm, and punishment in front of the eyes of God will be quite serious.”
He also advised the governor to adhere to religious obligations, avoid those prohibited by Islamic law, pay attention to religious observance, striving to realize this year’s slogan, and engage in serious, coordinated efforts to combat smuggling of goods.
