Before departing to attend the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit for China, the president of Iran described the conference as a historic opportunity to strengthen multilateralism, expand economic and cultural cooperation, and promote peace and security in the region and the world.
The President said the summit is certainly an effort to strengthen cooperation in line with multilateralism and counter the unilateral hegemony and hegemony promoted by the US and several European countries around the world, adding that such summits could raise the level of engagement with member states and other countries. He also points out that key members and observers will be present at the summit, and there will be participation and discussions between the president and prime ministers who will be present at the summit to strengthen cooperation.
Pezeshkian recalled that these discussions provide a very relevant and important opportunity to connect perspectives more closely in the scientific, cultural, economic, political and security fields and support each other.
The President emphasized that the Shanghai Summit will lead to strengthening interactions in various sectors of its member and observer countries. He added that meetings and discussions are also planned with the President of China and officials from other countries attending the summit.
Pezeshkian expressed his hope that these discussions and conferences will be effective and beneficial for the development of regional and global peace and security, as well as the relationship, safety and happiness between local people and all those living on this planet.
