Sources from Gaza emergency services Al Jazeera reported that the death toll from the Israeli bombing in central Gaza city’s Daraj district has risen to 20.
The Israeli regime’s army shot and killed Palestinians in Kalkylya on the occupied West Bank, WAFA news agency reported.
Citing local sources, the agency reported that the man was chased by Israeli special forces during a dawn attack in the city’s Wadi Barham region before he was shot and arrested.
Israeli Army officials estimate that 40% of Gaza city residents fled the besieged city as the army entered its center.
The Palestinians are forced to flee south and head to the camp of Almawasi. There, hundreds of thousands of people are packed into seas of sanitation, regular access to water, or tents without basic services.
Despite being declared a “safe zone”, Israel regularly attacks Almawasi, with little room in the overcrowded zone for the newcomers.
Other displaced people in Almawasi told Al Jazeera they expected it would soon be pushed further south into Egypt.
The Palestinian Foreign Ministry is calling for “exceptional and urgent international intervention” to protect civilians and stop Israel’s invasion of Gaza city.
In a statement on X, the ministry said diplomatic efforts to stop the war proved “failure” and called for action from the international community.
“The ministry is concerned about the beginning of the cemetery invasion and the exaggerated statements by the occupying government about the dangers of the lives of hundreds of thousands of Palestinian civilians who have been killed and at risk of evacuation,” he said.
“The Ministry calls for exceptional international intervention to halt this major crime and maximise political and diplomatic solutions that will halt this major crime and immediately stop war and attacks, protect civilians, prevent movement from stripping, immediate release of hostages and prisoners, and sustainable delivery of aid.”
Israel’s Gaza War has killed at least 64,871 people and injured 164,610 since October 2023.
