Israeli forces reported that they had sealed the entrance to Talcarem on the western bank of the northern occupied Jordan River, further escalating campaigns of raids, arrests and collective punishment that stolen thousands of Palestinians as the troops brutally destroyed Gaza.
The Thursday night footage shared by residents showed soldiers marching Palestinians in queues on the streets, as many described as a show of humiliating force.
Talkalem Governor Abdullah Kamil on Friday called on the international community to urge the United Nations General Assembly, the Human Rights Council and humanitarian groups to oppose what is known as a “crime” committed against the city’s roughly 10,000 residents.
Kamil said Israeli forces were “surprising and unfairly carrying out massive arrests, attacks, destruction of property and “terrified children and women” according to Palestinian news agency WAFA.
On Thursday, Israeli forces in Tarkalem were allegedly struck by what Israel called an explosive device that had injured two Israeli soldiers.
