Despite the widespread backlash against the Zionist regime as a result of crimes in Gaza, the six Arab countries have increased their level of cooperation with Tel Aviv over the past three years.
These military ties, which were thrown into crisis after Israel’s airstrikes on Qatar in September, could now play a key role in overseeing the nascent ceasefire in Gaza.
The Washington Post revealed on Saturday that even though Arab governments vehemently criticized Israel during the Gaza war, some of those same countries secretly maintained close military and intelligence cooperation with the Israeli regime.
According to leaked US documents obtained by the newspaper and the International Consortium of Investigative Journalists (ICIJ), at least six Arab countries – Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Jordan, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain and Qatar – participated in a sensitive regional defense framework known as the Regional Security Building. Kuwait and Oman have been mentioned as possible future partners, the report added.
