Tehran – A group of media experts and filmmakers from different countries who participated in various editions of the Sob International Media Festival have signed a statement condemning the Zionist regime’s invasion of Iranian territory and the attack on the Islamic Republic’s Iranian Broadcasting (IRIB).
“As a media activist, filmmaker, and participant in various editions of the Sob International Media Festival, I condemn the blatant aggression of the Israeli regime against the Israeli regime. While the Islamic Republic of Iran pursues a path of dialogue with rationality and diplomatic relations, the territorial sovereignty and core principles of international law emerged,” the signatories wrote.
“Continuing unfair and brutal attacks by the Israeli regime, on June 16th, IRIB buildings were also targeted, leading to the deaths and injuries of several journalists and staff. It is important to note that such attacks on journalists and media personnel have been unprecedented. The Israeli regime has killed nearly 300 national and international journalists in the city of Gaza, trying to hide the scope of crime from global society,” they added.
“These systemic atrocities against the media violate international law, namely the Geneva Convention and the UN Security Council resolutions, which explicitly prohibit attacks on journalists in armed conflict. Uncensored news distribution to the people of Iran and the world.
The signatories said the Israeli destruction of the glass building was an act of revenge, but despite the obstacles to iron and stone, it was also an attempt to silence a true and transparent voice. “In honor of Penn, June 16, 2025 – the day Israel attacked the buildings of Ilib on its own territory – designated as the international day of the truth and suppressed media.
