Notified officials told Noon that a fourth round indirect talks between Iran’s Islamic Republic and the United States will be held in the Oman capital on Sunday, May 11.
Previously, US President Donald Trump’s regional envoy called indirect talks with Iran “positive,” and said efforts were underway to incorporate the process into another round this weekend.
Speaking in Washington, D.C. on Tuesday, Steve Witkoff said “we’ve made some progress.”
“I hope it’s moving in the right direction. The President wants to see something diplomatically resolved if possible, so we’re doing everything we can to get it.”
Officials have further indicated that consultations that began with Omani mediation in Muscat and Rome could be extended for the fourth round, PressTV reported.
The fourth round was originally scheduled for May 3rd in the Italian capital. But that was postponed.
Witkov said the apparent ongoing push delay to continue the process was due to future visits to Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and Qatar next week.
However, he added, “Iran does not have nuclear weapons.” This is an assertion that it is repeated by the United States and its allies in contradicting the repeated Abowar of the Islamic Republic and that it will not pursue, develop or stockpile such weapons in accordance with moral and religious orders.
Tehran’s peaceful nuclear policy has been confirmed by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), which never found any signs of international pursuit, under the broadest research process compared to other members of the UN’s nuclear nuclear agency, and thus has never found any signs of such a pursuit.
In addition to sticking to unfounded claims, Washington and some of its allies have sometimes argued for a “complete dismantling” of Iran’s nuclear energy program, particularly under Trump. The claim was last made by Trump himself in comments about NBC’s “Meet the Press” program.
However, Iran outlined enriched uranium in its own soil, removing illegal, unilateral and oppressive sanctions in the United States as an unnegotiable principle that is always adhered to during meetings.
The Islamic Republic has also thoroughly rejected the concept that diplomatic processes allow other issues to be taken into consideration, such as their defensive power and regional impact.
Nevertheless, both sides have so far explained that their consultations are generally productive. This includes the final round that was billed as a “constructive” process.
