TEHRAN – Iran has strongly rejected recent allegations by French officials accusing Tehran of using it in the Ukrainian conflict to supply military equipment to Russia.
Iran’s Foreign Ministry reaffirmed that the Islamic Republic was not involved in the war and criticised France for these irresponsible and unfounded accusations.
Speaking to reporters on Friday, Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeir Bakaei dismissed the claims, politically motivated and repeated Tehran’s principled stance on war. He emphasized Iran’s defense of diplomacy as the only way to resolve the Ukraine crisis.
“Iran is not involved in the Ukrainian conflict and is firmly in a position to oppose the war,” Bakaei said. “We believe that the crisis should be resolved through dialogue and diplomatic negotiations between the parties involved.”
His comments came in response to a statement made by French President Emmanuel Macron. He recently suggested that Russia is using Iranian-made equipment in Ukraine. Baqaei described Macron’s comments as yet another attempt by Western officials to deviate from their own failures in maintaining regional and global stability.
The idiots criticized the French government for repeatedly creating what they called “false and unfounded allegations” about Iran’s role in Ukraine. He accused French officials of engaging in the denunciation game rather than taking responsibility for their own actions regarding European security.
“The repeated unfounded accusations like this are not only irresponsible, but also reveals deliberate attempts by the French authorities to distract attention from their policies and miscalculations,” he said.
He also recalled similar allegations made over the past three years, claiming that the Western government was trying to portray Iran as a volatile force rather than dealing with their own involvement in the conflict.
An Iranian spokesman urged France to abandon its conflicting stance and focus on constructive diplomacy. He called on French officials to recognize their role in shaping international security dynamics and to take meaningful steps towards de-escalation.
“If France is really committed to peace and stability, it should stop the tactics that hold it accountable and instead work towards a genuine diplomatic solution,” Bakaei said.
