The announcement came after the RSF was criticized for a three-day attack on normally secure Port Sudan, the BBC reported.
On Tuesday, Sudan’s Defense Minister Yasin Ibrahim accused the UAE of violating his country’s sovereignty through the “proxy” RSF. The United Arab Emirates have repeatedly denied allegations that it is providing financial, military and political support to paramilitary forces.
Two years of conflict killed thousands and forced millions out of their homes, creating the world’s worst humanitarian crisis.
Over the past three days, drone strikes have collided with international airports, major power stations and hotels in Port Sudan. The Army accused the RSF of being behind the assault, but paramilitary groups have not yet commented on the issue.
Until now, Port Sudan has avoided artillery fire and was considered one of the safest places in a war-torn country.
During the Civil War, Sudanese troops accused the UAE of arming the RSF.
The UK and the US have selected the United Arab Emirates on separate appeals for external countries to halt support of Sudan’s war parties.
