In a statement on Sunday, the Gaza-based resistance group emphasized that the Israeli government is “blatantly” attempting to “evade” in the second phase of the ceasefire agreement.
“The statement issued by terrorist (Israel) occupational prime minister Netanyahu regarding alleged approval of the US proposal to extend the first phase of a contract that violates the ceasefire agreement in Gaza is a blatant attempt to avoid the contract and negotiate a second phase.”
With the 42-day first phase of the previously agreed ceasefire concluded on Saturday, Netanyahu’s office announced that Israel had adopted a proposal from President Donald Trump’s envoy group Steve Witkov, and had unilaterally announced to extend the first phase of the Ramadan and Passover era ceasefire in Gaza.
“I declare that the only way (the Israeli) occupation can restore prisoners is to comply with the contract and immediately enter into second stage negotiations while fulfilling their obligations,” the statement added.
As part of the early stages of the ceasefire agreement, more than 2,000 Palestinian aidutees were illegally detained in Israeli prisons and detention centres in exchange for 25 Israeli prisons and eight other ruins.
Israeli authorities claim that 27 prisoners have been taken prisoner within the Gaza Strip, with 32 bodies still not recovering.
Hamas has called on the US administration “bias” and “alignment” as “fascist detective Netanyahu’s fascist plan.”
In a statement, Hams criticized Israel’s “days” and “systematic violations” that led to the murder of more than 100 Palestinians in Gaza, preventing the supply of shelters and aid, and deepening the humanitarian catastrophe on the strip.
“We urge mediators to pressure the profession to meet their contractual commitments, ensure the implementation of humanitarian protocols and allow Gaza to enter shelter materials and rescue equipment,” he added.
On Saturday, Hamas spokesman Haism Qassem rejected Israel’s proposal to extend the first phase of the Gaza ceasefire and called on the international community to pressure Tel Aviv to proceed to the second phase of the originally planned transaction.
“It is unacceptable to extend the first stage of the transaction in the form proposed by Israel,” Qassem said, adding that the occupation regime is fully responsible for not starting negotiations during the second stage of the Gaza ceasefire.
A Hamas spokesman added that the Israeli regime has circumvented a commitment to end the war and withdraw from Gaza altogether, and is “trying to ease the issue by shuffling the cards with the proposal to extend the first phase.”
Israel launched a genocide war in the Gaza Strip on October 7, 2023. Hamas was after he conducted a historic operation against the seizing groups in retaliation for intensifying atrocities against the Palestinians.
The Tel Aviv regime failed to achieve its declared purpose of freeing prisoners and eliminating Hamas, despite killing at least 48,348 Palestinians, mostly women and children in Gaza.
