This year’s QUDS Day Rally will be held worldwide on Friday, March 28th, 2025.
After the Islamic Revolution of 1979, after overthrowing the US-backed Iranian Shah, Ayatollah Khomeini (RA) announced that the final Friday of Ramadan will be known as QUDS Day.
Imam Khomeini called on all Muslims around the world to demonstrate solidarity with the Palestinians and defend their rights.
As a result, International QUDS Day is marked annually by large demonstrations in Iran and other countries supporting Palestine.
This annual observance serves as a powerful symbol of resistance to occupation of Palestinian territory and as a call for the liberation of Al-Kud.
Beyond its religious importance, the opportunity has become a platform for expressing broader anti-imperialist sentiment and condemning what is perceived as Western prejudices in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
Rallyings are often characterized by speeches, burning statues representing politicians and nations considered hostile to Palestine, and chanting of slogans calling for the end of Israel’s occupation and the establishment of a Palestinian state.
Those seeking freedom see Quds Day as a legitimate expression of solidarity and an important reminder of Palestinian light-formation.
Despite the Israeli attacks in Gaza, which began on October 7, 2023, killing more than 50,000 Palestinians, Israel’s attacks in Gaza failed to meet its target.
Israel initially accepted Hamas’ terms of the three-stage Gaza ceasefire from January 19th, but later refused to proceed to the second phase, accompanied by the withdrawal of troops from Gaza.
The demonstrations on the day of Quds have expanded beyond the Islamic world, attracting participants and support for Palestinians, even in Europe and the United States, reflecting broader humanitarian concerns.
The Palestine issue remains at the heart of the Islamic Umma. Repressive capitalist policies have driven Palestinians out of their homelands and replaced them with foreigners and terrorist regimes.
Quds Day is an important reminder that Palestine’s liberation is a global responsibility and demands justice and self-determination.
There is a need for a united front against the Zionist regime. Gaza’s recent atrocities underscore the urgent need for international accountability for Israeli actions, including targeting civilians, destroying infrastructure, and blockade of Gaza – a blatant violation of international law.
The hypocrisy of the western powers facing Israeli attacks underscores the need for an independent voice to protect Palestine.
The Zionist refusal to even basic ceasefire conditions reveals it ignores Palestinians’ suffering and commitment to occupation. This requires strong pressure on Israel to comply with international law.
Increased participation in Quds Day around the world shows global solidarity for justice, equality and liberation in Palestine.
Islamic Ummah is determined in his commitment to the liberation of Palestine and the establishment of a sovereign Palestinian state. The fight continues until the Palestinians recognize their right to self-determination, live a life of peace and dignity, and are free from oppression.
