Tehran – Inhabitants of southern Syria forced Israeli occupation forces (IOFs) to retreat from the village.
The Syrian Human Rights Observatory reported that residents of Luweihina village in Syria’s Kneitra province expelled Israeli patrols after entering the area.
The incident was filled with no response from Syrian new government amid repeated invasions and sharp escalations by the IOF.
Villagers in central Queitra confronted the IOF after entering the village and harassing civilians.
Angry at the intrusion, residents threw stones at military vehicles and smashed it from one of the vehicles before setting the Israeli flag on fire.
According to the Syrian Human Rights Observation, the event reflects continuous grassroots resistance to Israeli occupation in southern Syria.
It follows a series of similar Israeli invasions in both Queneitra in southwestern Syria and in neighboring Daraa provinces.
According to local sources, Israeli patrols harassed passersby and caused villagers, leading to immediate responses from residents.
The episode highlights growing community unrest in response to the growing military occupation of Israel in Syria.
In another case, six IOF vehicles entered the Yarmuk Basin area in western Dara.
The fleet was temporarily stationed along the road between the two villages before retreating immediately. According to the Syrian observatory, there was no further information about the motives or consequences of the invasion.
Just a few days ago, two Israeli tanks and two military vehicles moved from a former Syrian army base to a rural village in Kneitra.
Since the previous government collapse in December 2024, Syria has experienced repeated Israeli attacks, including ground raids and unprecedented airstrikes in several regions, including the capital.
The new Damascus government has yet to respond to illegal occupation and attacks in Israel’s fight.
Despite recent talks between Israel and Syrian interim governments, Israel reportedly targeted Syrian coastal cities in Latakia and Tartas, killing one person.
Israeli forces were confirmed shortly after struck Latakia’s what was called weapons storage facilities, including missiles that “stricken the freedom of international and Israeli maritime voyages.”
