Upon arrival, the Afghan Minister was received by General Mansour Bijjar, Governor of Sistan Baluchestan Province.
Mr. Bijar stressed the need to strengthen economic, cultural and infrastructure ties between Iran’s Sistan-Baluchestan province and neighboring Afghanistan.
He stressed that the expansion and development of cooperation between the two countries is the basis for sustainable development and regional security.
He introduced Sistan-Baluchestan province as one of the gateways between Iran and Afghanistan, calling its extensive economic and cultural opportunities “important.”
By leveraging shared cultural, religious and linguistic capabilities, the Iranian province and Afghanistan can pave the way for strengthening trade exchanges and attracting investment opportunities, the Governor-General stressed.
Elsewhere in his remarks, Mr. Villar pointed to the state’s human and natural capabilities and said the meeting would be a harbinger of broader and sustainable cooperation between the two countries, as harnessing these capabilities will play a key role in achieving cooperation goals.
A visit to the economic infrastructure of Iran’s southern province and attendance at the Iran-Afghanistan Joint Economic Committee meeting are among the most important programs of the Taliban Industry Minister’s one-day visit to the province.
