Sadegu pointed out at the 18th Iran-Tourmanistan Joint Economic Cooperation Committee in Tehran that bilateral trade between the two countries reached $600 million last year.
She emphasized that cooperation with Turkmenistan is a top priority for Iran and emphasizes high-level meetings and joint committees as evidence of the two countries’ commitment to strengthening economic ties.
Referring to the 17th Joint Committee held at Ashgabat in November 2023, Sadegu noted that the agreements held during the meeting were effectively pursued and were on track.
Sadeg revealed that Iran and Turkmenistan have reached a strategic agreement in the transport and transportation sector.
Both sides aim to pass 20 million tonnes of goods through the territory each year by 2028, the report added.
Daily railway exchanges at the Sarakhs and Incheh Borun Borders (400 wagons and 100 wagons, respectively) are also carried out through joint efforts by the two countries.
