Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexei Overchuk announced on Monday that Iran, Azerbaijan and Russia are seriously exploring the establishment of a free logistics line between the three countries.
At the aforementioned meeting between the three countries, which was held for the purpose of developing cooperation in various fields such as transportation, energy, and customs cooperation, he emphasized that Russia has created a common market for basic goods, established harmonized laws and standards, and created barrier-free and free logistics.
Russia’s Oberchuk also praised the agreement reached at the tripartite meeting in Baku, saying that Iran, Russia and Azerbaijan are seeking to create a common goods market with barrier-free logistics that can cover shipping from the Barents and Baltic Seas to the Persian Gulf.
Obachuk told Russia’s Tass news agency that increasing transport through INSTC will lead to improved economic welfare for the people of the three countries, adding that the project will bring significant benefits to producers, exporters and importers.
