TEHRAN-Mehernava Music Ensemble is scheduled to hold a concert at Tehran’s Andisheh Cultural Center on Thursday as part of its latest artistic endeavor.
The performance aims to showcase Iran’s regional musical talent, with special emphasis on preserving and promoting Iran’s diverse musical heritage, Mehr reported.
The event, led by percussionist and bandleader Alireza Salamat with vocals by Abbas Rasulzadeh and Alireza Darvish, will be held in partnership with Andisheh Cultural Center to support children fighting cancer, the report added.
It also celebrates Iran’s cultural heritage, revives traditional melodies, and serves to introduce today’s generation to Iran’s vibrant musical colors.
This concert will feature a repertoire of well-known and less-performed local songs, utilizing authentic instrumental arrangements rooted in local tradition.
This initiative focuses on the rich diversity of Iranian folk music, with its diverse rhythms, languages, stories, indigenous instruments, etc., and aims to provide an ideal platform to convey this precious heritage and raise public awareness.
