TEHRAN – Iran’s first vice president, Mohammad Reza Alev, stressed insightful bilateral negotiations with Tajikistan’s prime minister, Kohil Rasluzoda, at a joint press conference in Tehran on Monday.
The AREF emphasized the importance of Rasluzoda’s visit, including participation in the Caspia Economic Forum and a high-level bilateral discussion. Tajikistan attends the forum as a special guest.
Speaking at the press conference, AREF said: “There was a productive bilateral negotiation today. Iran and Tajikistan’s political ties are at its strongest. The president’s visit to Tajikistan was a memorable event that was warmly received by the Tajik government.”
He further emphasized that the comprehensive development strategies of two countries established during the visit are currently in the implementation phase. “We believe that our economy can complement each other and meet each other’s needs,” AREF added.
The AREF also highlighted the importance of private sector participation and announced that both governments have agreed to promote private sector activities. “Removing the visa requirements will promote travel and enhance private sector engagement. We are committed to continuing cooperation between engineering and technical services,” he noted.
Additionally, AREF has revealed that the Joint Committee on Economic Cooperation is working on a strategic plan to significantly increase trade and economic relations. “We also agreed that joint tourism initiatives will become a priority,” he said.
Prime Minister Rasluzoda described the debate as genuinely constructive. “The Iranian President’s visit to Tajikistan marks the beginning of a new phase of our bilateral relations. The signed agreement will lead to an expansion of cooperation in trade, culture and other important areas.” he said. He also expressed Tajikistan’s interest in increasing investment opportunities between the two countries.
Earlier in the day, AREF officially welcomed Rasluzoda at an official ceremony held at the Sadabad Complex. The Tajiks traveled to Tehran to attend the Economic Forum in Caspia. The Caspian Economic Forum began today with participation from Russia, Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan.
