“In earnest and openly vigilance, we are giving diplomacy a real opportunity,” a spokesman for Iran’s Foreign Ministry said on X on Friday.
“We should value this decision formed despite their general conflict hoopra,” the spokesperson added.
“We don’t judge in advance, we don’t predict,” he said, adding, “We will assess and resolve the intentions of the other side this Saturday.”
“We will reflect and respond accordingly,” the Iranian diplomat added.
Iran and the US delegations will arrive in Muscat, Oman’s capital, by noon on Saturday and hold a meeting with the Omani foreign minister, before they will begin indirect negotiations with the US side, Tasnim said in a report on Friday.
According to the report, Omani Foreign Minister will play the mediator in conveying the message between the two.
The Iranian delegation is led by Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Arakich, and the American delegation is led by Middle Eastern US envoy Steve Witkov.
“No rumors have been confirmed by any source so far that Whitaker will not travel to Oman if no direct negotiations were made,” the report added.
