TEHRAN – Iranian director Behruz Gharibpour will reprise his puppet opera “Hafez” with the Alan Theater Company at Tehran’s Ferdowsi Hall on Sunday.
The performance is a continuation of the group’s regional tour, which previously included Shiraz and Sari, IRNA reported on Wednesday.
Amir Pourkharaj composed the music for the opera, accompanied by soloists and choirs including Alireza Ghorbani, Ali Zand Vakili, Vahid Taj, and Hare Seifizadeh.
This opera is a fascinating depiction of the life and character of Hafez, the famous Persian poet. The performance is based on Iranian classical music vocal radif.
The symphonic section, conducted by Amir Pourkharaj, was performed by a Bulgarian orchestra.
The puppet opera “Hafez” has over 22 performers and is assisted by Qasem Rahmati and Gonche Nadgaran.
The Alan Puppet Theater has performed various operas such as “Rumi”, “Ashura”, “Rostam and Sohrab”, and “Hafez” in cities such as Gorgan, Mashhad, Shiraz, Babol, Sari, Rome, Dubai, Tbilisi, Prague, Kiev, Turin, and Krakow.
Hafez, also known as Hafez, was a famous Persian poet born in Shiraz in the 14th century. He is known for his lyrical poetry, which beautifully combines themes of love, spirituality, and mysticism.
