The first trilateral meeting of political consultations was held on September 9, 2025 at the level of regional directors of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Tehran, three countries.
The Iranian delegation was led by South Asia Director Mohammad Reza Barami of the Islamic Republic’s Foreign Ministry. The Indian delegation was led by Anand Prakash, Co-Secretary (PAI), Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of India. The Uzbek delegation was led by Gholamjon Primkulov, Director of the Uzbekistan State Foreign Ministry’s Cooperation with South Asia, the Middle East and Africa, near South Asia.
Expressing his satisfaction with the holding of this trilateral meeting, the three parties emphasized that they would organize it regularly and annually in line with ensuring mutual benefits and promoting local welfare and prosperity.
At the conference, the three parties emphasized expanding and deepening cooperation, particularly in areas related to connectivity.
They considered progress on the decision adopted at the third conference of the Chabahar Working Group in November 2024 in Mumbai, India. The three parties also investigated and highlighted measures to develop trade relations and other subjects of mutual interest.
