Directors of the Iranian Foreign Ministry’s Office of Human Rights and Women’s Affairs and Multilateral Bureau held the 10th round of the 10th bilateral human rights dialogue between Iran and Russia in Tehran.
In this series of talks, the head of the Iranian and Russian delegations emphasized the importance and need for the continued consultation. They evaluated the 22-year history of both countries’ willingness and determination to retain both countries’ human rights consultations as a sign of progressive and sustainable improvements in relations between the two countries.
The parties have considered the latest human rights development at the regional and international levels, particularly at international forums, and emphasized the need for meaningful cooperation and interaction between the two countries on human rights issues, with the aim of confronting human rights abuses, particularly to put pressure on the country to achieve strategic political goals.
During these consultations, the 12-day US military attacks on the Zionist regime and Iran led to martialism of more than 1,110 innocent people, including its humanitarian and human rights aspects, leading to the injury to more than 6,000 people, and the destruction and serious damage of thousands of homes in various Iranian cities.
The human rights situation in the occupied Palestinian territory and the crimes committed by the Zionist regime against the residents of Gaza were other topics discussed at the conference.
The parties underscored the importance of continuing, strengthening and promoting these consultations, and agreed to hold the next round of consultations hosted by the Russian Federation in 2026.
